Tom Watts

I shoot loads of studio based branded and commercial content along with a lot of green screen. Recently I shot Volkswagen content for Tribal DDB

My biggest influence in cinematography is drawn from my background in art and design. The Baroque masters,  Rembrandt and Caravaggio, as well as the Renaissance master, Titian are my biggest inspirations for lighting and composition. I was mentored in photography lighting techniques by SWPP and MPA fellow, Marko Dutka and have translated this fundamental skill set into the visual language of film. I combine all these aspects to create bold, unique, dramatic and moving work.

These inspirations can be seen in my work on The 12, a feature film shot in five days, which at its first two film festivals won: Best feature twice, Best Director and best Screenplay and has been nominated at both for: Best FIlm Best, Cinematography, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actor. I’m also excited to announce that my second feature film  "The Intent 2: The Come Up"  which  was funded by Island Records and Universal Music will be released in cinemas nationally in Autumn.
